Job Responsibilities:
1.Analyse, develop and interpret product requirements in order to develop embedded software requirements.
2.Develop embedded software in C to run on house hold appliances
3.Administration and use of software configuration management (SCM) systems such as GIT or SVN.
4.Design of software architecture to meet the product requirements and future re-use.
5.Test automation developed with unit test tools written in Python.
6.Implement and test the microcontroller code incorporating best practice continuous integration and design for test principles
7.Use of Agile development methods and tool sets such as Jira
8.Development of test plans linked to requirements aligned with industry best practices.
9.Software peer review with colleagues
10.Preparing and presenting test results, data and recommendations.
11. Analysing data and writing of Technical Reports in English language
12.Support feasibility activities for new products and features.
13.Work closely with the R&D Teams to architect and develop the best technical solution and approach.
Experience
1.Fluent communication, written and verbal in English.
2.Development of code for Microchip and ST microcontrollers (8 bit to 32 bit) in C
3.PID control of heaters and motors.
4.Experience of safety interlocks to control hardware
5.Implementation of serial communications between MCUs
6.Development of user interfaces using LCD or TFT interface
7.Experience in the development of WiFi and IOT connectivity is desirable
8.Experience in the design, development and integration test of state machines, interrupt driven systems and/or messaging based systems.
9.The use of UML diagrams to describe, analyse and specify designs
10.Experience in the use of Python to for automated testing
11.Knowledge and experience in the design of electronic circuit hardware is highly desirable
12.Ability to bring up and debug new hardware and diagnose issues using oscilloscopes, serial comms capture, logging for debug etc
13.Product development, design for manufacture, production test experience.
